The album finds the brotherly trio boldly stretching their musical boundaries — several of the songs incorporate horns as well as harmonicas and pedal steel guitars. "Paranoid," however, is a guitar-driven dance ditty in the mold of Jonas Brothers gems past.

1.) Dont Plan A Tour Because Youre Unhappy At Home—Just as an affair will not fix the problems in a marriage, a tour is not the cure for: problems within the band, problems in the band members lives, or a general malaise for your local scene. A tour is strain and stress and loads of work. You should be excited, and enthusiastic and positive when planning.

Artist Song Demos - How To Break Through And Sell Your Songs!

1c2b

As writers, its often difficult to be objective about writing and any aspect related to writing and creating the demos that are used to shop songs. As a former talent booking agent with the William Morris Agency, I can tell you that with all of the vast array of talent and gifted writers, only a few make it to the inner circle. There are various reasons for this, but none that come close to what we will spend the remaining time in this article talking about. Many a hopeful writer and artist walked through the doors of William Morris only to find that the magic they thought they had come upon, vanished in a moments notice. Why is that? Why do some get the writers and artist deals with virtually no writing innovation, while others, with up in your face talent, not getting the due recognition and artist album cuts so richly deserved? Lets spend a few minutes together talking through a few basic concepts to hopefully get you moving in the right direction.

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

That”s just the beginning, according to Boche Billions, a.k.a. David Viecelli, of Billions Corporation in Chicago, a booking & management firm whose roster includes Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Southern Culture on the Skids, Wire, Calexico, and the now disbanded Jesus Lizard. ‘Besides the obvious things, it is about finding someone who understands who the band is, what they want to get out of being a band, and what the realistic expectations for that band are in the marketplace.’

Simon Cowell on Susan Boyle: ‘I’m Thrilled to Bits’

"American Idol" curmudgeon Simon Cowell seems to be all smiles these days when he talks about "Britain’s Got Talent" overnight sensation Susan Boyle. He praises the 47-year-old Scottish singer with an angelic voice in the new issue of TV Guide Magazine, on newsstands Thursday, saying, "It’s just the most wonderful story."

"She was sitting home a few weeks ago, all alone with her cat, and no one’s ever heard of her, apart from six people," says Simon, "and now you’ve got 150 million people daily talking about her in America, and people camped outside her house. That’s incredible."

Earlier this month, Boyle wowed Simon and his fellow judges overseas on "Britain’s Got Talent" with her incredible singing voice — an unexpected talent at odds with her frumpy, eccentric appearance. Her performance has clicked north of 50 million views on YouTube, and although she has yet to win the competition, Simon thinks she’s a definite star in the making.

Take their advice seriously

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Take their advice seriously. If they want you to take a job you feel is beneath you, and your wonderful talent, try to see it from their point of view. If you are new, they have actors more qualified than you, and theres a reason they are more qualified. Keep doing the work offered, and soon you will be one the more qualified actors with plenty of credits to your name.
