Many of the images in the classic movie posters are literal

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Many of the images in the classic movie posters are literal. For instance, Gone With The Wind”s classic movie poster had Vivian Leigh in Clarke Gable”s arms. The King Kong classic movie poster has the heroine being carried by King Kong. The Casablanca classic movie poster has its lead stars, Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, looking at us, their cheeks against each other.

Lawyer: Michael Jackson 911 Call Not Immediately Made

Edward Chernoff, the lawyer for Michael Jacksons personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray, told CNN that a 911 call was not made immediately when Jackson was found to be ill.

Chernoff told CNN’s Kiran Chetry that the lack of a phone line in Jacksons bedroom contributed to the delayed 911 call, and that his client performed CPR on Jackson for 25-30 minutes.

When asked if 911 was called immediately, Chernoff said, "No, I mean look, not immediately. Dr. Murray is his personal physician, that is something you would want is for your doctor to be right there if you were going into cardiac arrest, he was there, especially a cardiologist, he was there to try to revive Michael."

Court Appoints Jackson’s Mother Special Administrator

A Los Angeles court has appointed Katherine Jackson as the temporary special administrator of her son, Michael Jackson’s, estate.

According to new court papers obtained by ET, Katherine will have the power to administer aspects of her son’s estate until a July 6 hearing. The judge states specifically that Katherine will be able "to control tangible personal property currently in the physical possession of a third party, and to marshal and secure such assets."

In court papers filed by Katherine Jackson, she states, "Numerous bank accounts now exist that are in control of third parties, some of which accounts were used to pay expenses of [Michael Jackson’s] parents’ home."

Officials Seize ‘Medications’ From Jackson’s Home

Officials visited Michael Jackson’s rented home today and seized ‘medications.’

An official speaking outside of Jackson’s rented home says that they seized the medications because of "information that was obtained by the Los Angeles Police Department, along with some questions that we had involving some of the medications." The official would not disclose the quantity of the medications.

The official said that he and an investigator from the Coroner’s office and an LAPD detective collected "some additional items as a result of our investigation and those items have been taken into custody as evidence and we’ll be returning to our office to analyze some of the stuff."

Michael Jackson’s Doctor’s Attorney Speaks Out

The attorney to Dr. Conrad Murray, Edward Chernoff, gives ET his client’s side of the story, recalling the doctor’s moments with Michael Jackson leading up to the singer’s death.

The LAPD released this statement to ET regarding their interview with Dr. Murray:

"Dr. Conrad Murray, the physician who was with Michael Jackson at the time of his collapse, voluntarily contacted the Los Angeles Police Department. Detectives assigned to Robbery-Homicide Division met with Dr. Murray and conducted an extensive interview. Dr. Murray was cooperative and provided information which will aid the investigation."

Diane Dimond On Michael Jackson Autopsy: Report

Newswoman Diane Dimond has covered Michael Jackson since 1993, now she talks to "ET" about the shocking info that she says leaked in the London Daily Sun from the King of Pop’s autopsy report.

Diane tells ET, "If you look back at the mug shot of Michael Jackson on the booking sheet [from 1993], I think it says he weighs 125 or 130 pounds. For him now to be 112 pounds at death, I don’t know any fat habitual drug abusers. They always lose weight when they are abusing drugs, but I think in this case it was more than that. I think it was years and years of anorexic behavior.

"We heard testimony during the trial that he hardly ever ate. He drank, but he didn’t eat. And now we hear from Grace Rwaramba, the nanny who, by all intents and purposes, was a wife to him for 12 years, that she had a tough time getting him to eat even one meal a day, he wouldn’t bathe himself, and he wouldn’t be groomed. She said at one point, it got so bad she didn’t want the children to see him in that state."

Update: Where is Michael Jackson’s Beloved Pet Chimp?

ET can tell you where Michael Jackson’s former pet chimpanzee, Bubbles, is today.

Bubbles is alive and thriving at the Center for Great Apes in Wauchula, Florida, according to the center’s Web site.

The center reports that Bubbles was born in 1983 in a biomedical laboratory, and purchased as a young chimp by an entertainment trainer. The chimp was later acquired by Jackson and accompanied the superstar on his world travels. Bubbles retired at age six or seven, and thereafter lived at a California trainer’s compound with his chimp buddy Sam until 2005, when he moved to the Center for Great Apes.

The papers allege that Michael filled "multiple prescriptions" through Mickey Fine Pharmacy. The suit is now "amicably resolved."

With that in mind, independent films are a great place to start

Monday, June 29th, 2009

With that in mind, independent films are a great place to start. So where do you begin? Well, listing sites like Versus Media, Film Music Network, and Taxi are a good place to start, but its hard to rely on a steady income from people youve never met. Also, something Ive learned recently from a couple of music supervisors, is that follow up on your package is not required, nor particularly appreciated. So you really are relying on your package and your music being picked out of the pile. However, the listing services will give you access to projects you may not have known about otherwise. They are, therefore, a good investment.

After the shocking death of Michael Jackson, attorney Herb Nass — who does not represent the Jackson family — tells ET what’s next for the superstar’s estate.

"Michael Jackson’s estate will be responsible for his debts," Herb says. "They are not going to be born by his children individually, but the debts that he had are debts of his estate, which of course will reduce his estate as a result, and thereby reduce what his three children will ultimately inherit from him." He adds that they will not be personally liable for the debts of their father.

"Michael Jackson had serious financial problems, there’s no secret about that," he says. "In the past couple of years he was fortunate to have some people come forward who really bailed him out." While he still has debts, "He owned a very impressive catalog of music, including many of The Beatles greatest hits," Herb points out, saying that this may be Paul McCartney’s chance to buy back some of those copyrights.

Quincy Jones on Michael Jackson’s Passing: ‘I’ve Lost My Little Brother’

Music mogul Quincy Jones, who worked with Michael Jackson on numerous music and film projects issued the following statement about the passing of the King of Pop:

Divinity brought our souls together on ‘The Wiz’ and allowed us to do what we were able to throughout the ’80s. To this day, the music we created together on Off The Wall, Thriller and Bad is played in every corner of the world and the reason for that is because he had it alltalent, grace, professionalism and dedication. He was the consummate entertainer and his contributions and legacy will be felt upon the world forever. I’ve lost my little brother today, and part of my soul has gone with him."

GLAAD Condemns Perez Hilton’s Use of Anti-Gay Slur

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is speaking out after Perez Hilton admittedly used an anti-gay slur in a confrontation with will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas.

Perez, who is openly gay, admitted in a video blog that he used an anti-gay slur against will.i.am during a confrontation in Toronto on Sunday night, which was corroborated by will.i.am in his own video blog. Perez said in his blog that during his conversation with will.i.am: "I made the split-second decision — that I was gonna say what I thought was the worst possible thing that thug [will.i.am] would ever want to hear," and then called the Black Eyed Peas singer the anti-gay slur.

"These are vulgar anti-gay slurs that feed a climate of hatred and intolerance toward our community," Rashad Robinson, Senior Director of Media Programs at GLAAD, tells ET. "For someone in our own community to use it to attack another person by saying that it is, quote, ‘The worst possible thing that thug would ever want to hear,’ is incredibly dangerous. It legitimizes use of a slur that is often linked to violence against our community. And it sends a message that it is OK to attempt to dehumanize people by exploiting anti-gay attitudes."

New Video: Chris Brown and Rihanna in Court

ET is bringing you inside the courtroom where Chris Brown pleaded guilty to assault earlier today, and Rihanna also appeared.

Brown pleaded guilty to one count of assault related to a domestic violence incident involving Rihanna in February. Brown’s lawyer Mark Geragos told the AP that Brown was sentenced to five years of supervised probation and six months of community service.

The judge ordered that Rihanna and Brown may not come within 50 yards of each other, unless they are at an event, in which case they can come within 10 yards of each other. They are not allowed to have any written or telephone contact, or contact through a third party, and the order will remain in full effect for five years.

Perez Hilton, Will.i.am in War of Words Over Late-Night Scuffle

Gossip blogger Perez Hilton is accusing Black Eyed Peas manager Liborio "Polo" Molina of punching him in the face in Toronto following a verbal altercation between Hilton and singer will.i.am, while will.i.am says that a fan punched Hilton. Meanwhile, Toronto police have reportedly charged Black Eyes Peas manager Molina with assault following the incident.

According to a report from the Associated Press, Peas manager Liborio Molina has been charged with assault and is due to appear in court on August 5.

The drama began to unfold online when Perez posted on his Twitter account early Monday morning, "I’m in shock. I need the police ASAP. Please come to the SoHo Metropolitan Hotel now. Please." He posted shortly thereafter, "I was assaulted by will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke."
